Dear Socrates,

Thank you for your email.  It is very difficult to say whether you would be able to find good work in Dubai as you have not really provided much information about the kind of job you are looking for and what work you've already done.

As a general idea, entry-level jobs or roles which don't require a high level of qualifications do not pay well at all.  This includes Sales jobs and Administrative roles.  I do not recommend to anyone below mid-level to move to Dubai as the income is not enough to allow for a comfortable life - it will certainly not be enough to make savings.  The problem is that life is extremely expensive there now and there is a great deal of competition from Asian and African workers who are willing to take a low salary and share accommodation (usually one family per bedroom in very small apartments), even when they have university degrees.

I am not trying to discourage you.  I'm just telling you the facts.  Unless you can find a job with a Greek company who will take you to Dubai and pay for accommodation and transport in addition to your salary, it is not worth trying.  Even in this case, I would ask you to be very careful about what is in the contract to make sure they don't take advantage of you.  The laws in Dubai are very different and there is no minimum pay of any kind, no social security, no benefits other than what the company gives you.

I hope this information helps you.

I wish you success whatever you decide to do.

Best regards,
Eugenia
