For some time now we were thinking about a way to start Greek dance lessons.
We noticed that there are some dancing talents in our community. During social gatherings and parties, some of our members showed exceptional dancing abilities and at least two members said that they had in the past received semi-professional training in traditional Greek dances and that they were willing to convey the spirit and knowledge to those who would like to be at the receiving end.
The main obstacle was and continues to be the lack of dedicated venue to conduct the trainings. All available places in Dubai (in hotels, gallery halls or elsewhere, have a certain cost). Individuals who have the right venue at their living places can be helpful.
The interest for dancing lessons is growing. Tina asked if there are Greek dancing lessons available for adults in Dubai, or if a Greek dancing group exists. We had a feedback from Natasha who introduced herself as a long-standing member and performer of Lyra Greek Dancers of London. She was teaching for certain time back in London and is considering of starting dance teaching in Dubai.
We would like to see more members reading the postings and adding their comments and suggestions.
